This semester, we have been tasked with a group project of designing the Shinjuku Grand Hotel in Japan. Throughout this semester, we will learn how to effectively collaborate and curate a thoughtfully designed space while researching international units of measurement, construction codes, and cultural influences. Our concept, The essence of ephemerality embodies the Japanese ideology of Wabi Sabi, which embraces the beauty found in the imperfections and fleeting moments of everyday life.
